We are proud to announce its role in supporting Early Bird, one of Sweden’s largest parcel distribution companies, in achieving the prestigious Nordic Swan Ecolabel certification for e-commerce transport.
Early Bird is now the third delivery operator in Sweden to receive this recognition, and the second to get the certification for home delivery—marking a significant step towards clearly communicating and labeling sustainable transports.
By meeting the strict environmental and social criteria set by the Nordic Ecolabel, Early Bird enables e-commerce consumers across Sweden to more easily see and choose energy-efficient home deliveries with a low climate impact. This certification applies to Early Bird’s Mailbox Delivery, Evening Home Delivery, and Home to Home services.
“Early Bird’s detailed monthly emission reporting across its entire distribution network, including all six distribution partners, played a key role in meeting the certification requirements and sets an example for the industry,” says Ariun Byambakhorloo, Sustainability Strategist at Aimabel.
The certification process, carried out in close collaboration with Ecolabelling Sweden, also helped Early Bird strengthen its operations—for example, by improving how they track and follow up with suppliers. By streamlining sustainability reporting, Early Bird has further strengthened its position as a leader in sustainable e-commerce logistics.
“This process pushed us forward, helping us refine our internal tracking and reporting while strengthening our sustainability efforts. With Aimabel’s support and expertise, the journey was smooth and efficient, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together.” says Kimberly Akvidson, Business Development Manager at Early Bird.
Aimabel has been Early Bird’s sustainability partner for several years, deeply involved in their strategies; setting the most ambitious science-based validated Net Zero target in Sweden, as well as developing their sustainability reporting and granular parcel- and address based reporting capabilities.
“Our collaboration with Early Bird demonstrates the power of data-driven sustainability and communication. By leveraging accurate emission tracking, we are helping our clients both meet strict certification requirements as well as the ability to communicate its low impact – and by doing so driving real change in the industry” says Petter Palander, Founder & CEO of Aimabel.
As the push for more sustainable logistics accelerates, Early Bird and Aimabel are committed to driving impactful change in the transport sector—ensuring that sustainability is not just a choice, but the norm.
