Places foundation and security improvements
What's new
- New Places infrastructure — We've laid the groundwork for a unified location model that will bring hubs, offices, storage sites, and other premises together under one consistent identity. The first step is live in production, enabling accurate, deduplicated place records across the platform.
- Route import now linked to Places — The DI routes import pipeline now writes directly to the new place model, keeping location data consistent and avoiding duplication between route and hub records.
- Security fix: account relationship permissions tightened — We closed a gap where, under certain conditions, a user could create unauthorized account-to-account relationships. Writes now correctly require ownership of both accounts involved. No customer data was impacted.
What's coming next
- Places: visibility and sharing — Work is underway to define how place details (ownership, supply relationships, served accounts) are shared between parties.
- Places: hub backfill — Existing hubs will be linked to the new place model, unifying hub data with the broader location infrastructure.
