Improved Vehicle Classification Infrastructure
We've been doing foundational work on how vehicle data is structured under the hood to support richer fleet management and emissions tracking features coming soon.
What's new
- Standardized vehicle categories — We've introduced a full EU/UNECE vehicle taxonomy (passenger cars, light commercial, heavy duty, agricultural, and more), complete with duty class groupings and parent/child category relationships. This powers more accurate categorization when managing fleets.
- Cleaner fuel type handling — Fuel types (diesel, petrol, HVO, etc.) are now managed as a dedicated reference list, decoupled from emission year data. This makes fuel assignments more flexible and easier to keep up to date.
- Drivetrain types as a first-class concept — Powertrain types (BEV, HEV, PHEV, ICE, hydrogen, etc.) are now tracked separately from fuel type, enabling more precise emissions and fleet reporting going forward.

- Fleet vehicle records linked to the new vehicle taxonomy
- Per-account, per-period fuel assignment tracking
- More granular control over which vehicle data is visible to different account types
