Today, we’re excited to launch Parcel, a part of our Carbon Accounting product and API, developed in collaboration with Early Bird – to accelerate sustainable transports and bring full transparency to the climate impact of parcel deliveries.

By providing detailed emission calculations down to the address- and parcel level, we’re making it possible for e-retailers to present the climate impact at the checkout of every purchase, from any logistics provider, and track emissions throughout the entire delivery process – from e-commerce logistic hubs all the way to the consumer.

This is an important step toward more sustainable e-commerce logistics. With growing consumer demand for transparency and more sustainable choices, we’re providing e-retailers the data they need to lower emissions from logistics more rapidly and enlighten consumers to make more informed decisions.

From Checkout to Carbon Reporting – A Complete Solution

The API offers a dual perspective—both at the point of purchase and in follow-up emissions reporting:

At Checkout: Customers can see the estimated carbon footprint of a delivery from a specific distribution provider before making a purchase. This empowers them to choose lower-impact shipping methods, encouraging more sustainable choices. The e-retailers can also use the carbon footprint on address-level to rank options based on emissions per parcel for any given operator.

For Emission Tracking & Reporting: Parcel calculates emissions on a parcel / address level, mapping out the exact route of each parcel, identifying the vehicles and energy types used at every stage. This gives e-retailers detailed insights into the real environmental impact of their deliveries and allows for accurate sustainability reporting.

Built with Early Bird – A Leader in Sustainable Distribution

We developed this API in close collaboration with Early Bird. By leveraging their detailed routing and vehicle data, we can offer incredibly precise emission estimation and reporting, helping e-retailers and consumers make more informed logistics decisions.

“We believe that transparency is key to driving change. With Parcel we’re providing businesses and consumers address- and parcel-specific emission insights—empowering them to make more sustainable choices at checkout and optimize their logistics for a lower climate impact,” – Petter Palander, CEO at Aimabel.

For a more Circular E-Commerce Industry

Early Bird has already cut fossil emissions per parcel by over 50% in the past five years, with a target to make all deliveries zero emissions by 2030. By offering this new API, we’re helping more e-retailers take the next step—giving customers and consumers a clear view of their climate impact and encouraging more sustainable logistics choices.

This is just the beginning of a more transparent and precise carbon accounting within logistics. Our hope is that more e-commerce businesses will integrate detailed emission data into their checkout experience, setting a new industry standard for transparency and sustainable deliveries.
